As of today, The Book of Monsters has finally been launched officially for most backers of my Patreon campaign. If you still don't know what it is, head over to the top menu, where I have posted details and a quick glimpse of what you can expect.
Since I've gone into the details of the book a couple of times, I decided to write a little about who is it targeted to. As many of you know, I'm a fantasy adept, gamer and board-gamer. To mix things up, I'm also an illustrator, creature designer, amateur writer and doctor (yes, I have an MD). So at one point I decided, why not mix everything in one single massive project? It has taken a lot of time, but that project is The Book of Monsters. So, who is my target?
- RPG enthusiasts and dungeon masters: Have you ever wanted to add pokemon to your world but felt it didn't fit with the rest of the campaign? These descriptions and designs fit perfectly with most fantasy scenarios.
- Art lovers and Biology fans: Even if you're not too interested in pokemon, you will find many watercolor paintings and detailed sketches of the biology and physiology of these creatures. It's almost like going through a Planet Earth documentary in a whole new world
- Gamers and Pokemon enthusiasts: Naturally, this is the main target, since you will probably know every creature by heart though some might be too old to relate to the simplistic drawings from the games. This is also the most sensible audience, since changing the name to every creature can be a delicate process, but I trust that the scientific approach will be appealing to all.
If you fall into any of these categories, you'd probably want to give The Book of Monsters a try. If you don't, then please check out the website and enjoy yourself with monsters, creeps, ghouls and ghosts!
See you on the other side!
